• Closer Spacing for Safety: We use 85 mm spacing on balustrade newels/uprights (competitors often use 100 mm), adding extra safety for children and pets.
• Optimal Panel Width: Our fence sections have a maximum width of 1.2 m for stability (others go up to 1.6 m, which can weaken the structure).
• Proper Reinforced Rails: We use appropriate T-top rails for our balustrades and fences, not thin pool-fence rails like some competitors. • Monthly Franchise Fee (Royalty): R 3,025 per month (excl. VAT). This is a flat franchise fee payable monthly for the rights to operate under the Value Fencing brand and system.
• Advertising & Admin Levy: A nominal monthly fee covers shared advertising, leads generation, and administrative support. (This fee is subject to a 10% annual increase to account for growing marketing efforts and inflation.)

As a franchisee under the self-set-up model, you will be responsible for the following key requirements (with full support and guidance from us):

• Establish a Mini-Factory: Set up a small fabrication/workshop facility for storing materials and assembling custom fence sections and gates. This ensures you can efficiently serve your clients locally.
• Maintain Startup Stock: Keep an initial inventory of approximately R 300,000 in PVC fencing materials. Having stock on hand allows you to deliver jobs quickly. (Replenishment stock is readily available from our main warehouses - see Inventory section below.)
• Operate from a Proper Premises: Use a legitimate commercial property (office/yard or warehouse) to run your business, with signage and branding that meet our specifications. A professional premises builds customer trust and is often required for estate/complex work approval.
• Branded Vehicles: Apply Value Fencing branding decals to your vehicles. This mobile advertising boosts local awareness and maintains a professional appearance when visiting client sites.
• Comprehensive Training: The franchise Owner (you) as well as your Manager and installation team must attend a training program at our head office in Ballito, KZN. This training (valued at ~R120,000, included in your initiation fee) covers everything from installation techniques to sales, quoting, and business management. We ensure you're confident and qualified to uphold our brand's standards.
• Adherence to Franchise Standards: Formally accept and follow all Value Fencing Franchise Group terms, conditions, and standard operating procedures. We have proven systems - from quoting and installation to customer service - and franchisees must use these systems to ensure consistent quality nationwide.
• Use Approved Systems: Use the supplied Fence Software V21CFS package for creating customer quotations and designing layouts. (The first installment for this specialized software is included in your initiation fee.) Alternatively, you may use the JOBBER client management/estimating system - our team will guide you on either platform. These tools are essential for accurate quotes and efficient project management.
• Dedicated Communication Lines: Use only the SIM card/phone number and email address provided by Value Fencing for all business communications and advertising. This ensures all customer inquiries are managed through official channels and helps us funnel leads directly to you while maintaining a professional, unified brand presence.
• Maintain Healthy Margins: Our business model is designed for strong profitability. Typical profit margins range from 25% up to 55% on projects, depending on your region and local competition. We will coach you on pricing and margin management to ensure your franchise is financially successful.

9. Inventory and Stock Management

Value Fencing will assist you with your inventory needs. PVC fencing stock is purchased by the container load (either 20-foot or 40-foot containers) directly from our supply chain. As a franchisee, you will typically start with an initial stock order (as mentioned, around R300k in value) and then replenish stock from our regional warehouses as needed.

• We maintain large warehouses in Durban and Cape Town, with an additional stock depot in Benoni (Gauteng) for convenient resupply. This distribution network ensures you can get materials quickly no matter where you are based.
• Reordering is flexible - you can draw smaller quantities from the nearest warehouse to top up your inventory, or order full containers when scaling up. We handle the import, local extrusion, and logistics of stock so you can focus on sales and installation.
• Cost Efficiency: It's best to keep a reasonable stock on hand and restock from the warehouse as necessary, rather than ordering piece-meal for each job. Consolidating your stock orders helps save on transport costs. (Transportation expenses can eat into your profits if you order materials one project at a time.) We'll guide you on optimal stock levels to maximize your profitability.
