How do I clean my PVC Fence? (Simple step-by-step guide)

(Simple step-by-step guide)

Cleaning and maintaining your PVC fence is relatively simple and straightforward. Here are some tips to help you keep your PVC fence looking like new:

  1. Cleaning: PVC fences can be cleaned with mild detergent (Domestos) and water, using a soft-bristled brush. Be sure to rinse the fence thoroughly with water after cleaning to remove any detergent residue. For stubborn marks and fine scratches use Automotive polish such as P-11, available from any Automotive paint shop or most Hardware or Car Spares outlets including Autozone.
  2. Avoid abrasive cleaners: It's important to avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals on your PVC fence as they can damage the surface and cause discoloration.
  3. Power washing: Power washing can be used to clean your PVC fence, but it's important to use a low-pressure setting to avoid damaging the fence. Also, make sure that the nozzle is at least 12 inches (30cm) away from the fence to avoid causing damage.
  4. Sunlight protection: Lower-grade PVC fences can be affected by UV rays, but Value Fencing's totally UV Resistant and need not be placed in an area that is protected from direct sunlight. If you chose the best quality brand PVC fence is perfect for any area that gets a lot of sun exposure, due to high levels of Ti02 used as UV protectant to help prevent discoloration.
  5. Avoid impact: Avoid hitting or hitting your PVC fence with hard objects or tools, as this can cause cracks or damage to the PVC material, especially if it is lower-grade PVC using Calcium Carbonate as UV inhibition. With Value Fencing's top-quality materials, this is not a big issue.
  6. Repairs: If you notice any cracks or damage on your PVC fence, it's best to have it repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
  7. Check for mold: PVC fences can be affected by mold, especially in areas with high humidity. If you notice any mold on your fence, clean it off with a mixture of water and white vinegar, and rinse the fence thoroughly with water.
  8. Paint: PVC fences don't need to be painted, and painting them with the wrong type of paint can damage the material and might peel. If a color change is required, the best option is to sand the material down with a fine 1000 Gritt water sandpaper and paint with 3x coats of Acrylic Roof painting. (No base or plastic primer required)

By following these simple tips and avoiding the use of abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, you can help keep your PVC fence looking like new for many years to come.
